Installing into an individual computer
Installing into a individual computer is very simple. Just leave the installation script as it is set and take a guided walk to the end. At the end of the installation there will be run a connection manager, where you will try connection to the database and start the programme.
Installation into a client computer
On the client computer run installation and in the Select Components dialogue, select the Client installation. Further keep everything preset. When you install the Firebird database you can select the option Client connectivity only.
At the end of the installation there will be started the connection manager, where you will need to configure a connection to the server. To do this, to the connecting chain you need to enter the [server name]: [full path from the perspective of the server to file portal.gdb] for example: srv01:c:\Program Files\Companys Calendar\portal.gdb To check, click Try to connect. If no connection is successful, try to find a solution in possible complications.
When being successfully connected it is recommended to click on the Save As ... and save the configuration to a flash memory or other portable media for easier installation into other stations.
At other stations proceed in the same way, except for clicking in connection manager on Load From... and select a configuration from Flash memory. This way you will reach the same connection set at each station as it has been done from the first client installation.
Installing into the server
On the server start the installation and in the Select Components dialog select the server computer. Keep other settings as they are set.
Installing into the Terminal Server
When installing the first user proceed in the same way as when installing into an individual computer. At the end of the installation test successful connection in connection manager and save it by clicking on Save As ... the Flash disk for further use.
By this the terminal server installation is completed and all users of the terminal will have an icon to start the program in the Start menu displayed. If you first log under a different username in the Windows, the program will find it and you will be prompted to enter the configuration file. This configuration file is stored on your Flash Disk from the end of the installation.
Do not forget to subscribe to user access from other stations and log in with new user names.
